JOAN SEVILLA, Assistant Superintendent of Children’s Church
Eight years ago, I gave birth to a beautiful and healthy baby boy. What seemed a joyous occasion soon turned into a heart-breaking time when I went through a major personal trial in my life. I felt so alone and I didn’t know who to turn to until my good friend Jenny Shiroma invited me to Christ’s Bible Fellowship. That first day I attended felt like the message was just for me when Pastor Tom talked about relationships, marriage, and divorce. I thirsted for more information and soon I began to read the Bible. Shortly after, during one Sunday, I asked Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. He gave a peace that I needed and I felt His presence as I continued to go through my personal trial. Jesus has been so good to me that I trust Him with my life. He has blessed me tremendously and one of it is my spiritual gift- the gift of teaching. I felt the call to step up and be involved in CBF so I am presently involved in the children’s ministry. CBF has been very instrumental in my spiritual growth with the Lord and I am so very thankful.
